«Meetings»:  Competition entry for a multifunctional culture house in Stjørdal. Norway 2014

Spatial openness

Transparency on ground level

The art work in relation to the whole building complex

Intentions                                                   An art work that:

- creates space for people passing by or walking through it

- signals a meeting situation: concentration, still remains open

- communicates on an urban scale

- has a diversity of visual possibilities

- is able to create a dialogue with the building

- is big, but light

A multitude of different colour aspects come up when moving around:

Detail view: perforation of steel plate

The building´s facade is dominated by pierced and stretched sheet metal in black colour.

The art work´s planes are perforated, too, but in another manner.

It serves to make the object visually light,
to create a subtle color mix, and
contribute to the complex´ general industrial character.

Night view. The art work - a recognizable "lamp".
